The biggest and fastest selling cult 'toy' of all time swept the world by storm in 1982. And now it's back.

Rubik's cube has six different coloured sides, each made up of nine squares. Once the faces are jumbled up, you have to twist and twirl them to return each coloured square to its place. Sounds pretty simple? You'd be surprised!

There are... wait for it... 43,252,003,274,489,856,000 ways of arranging the squares, and only one of these is the solution. So it's a massive challenge to work it out completely on your own. Fortunately, this time round each cube comes with a fantastic games and solution booklet which shows you how to solve the cube and all about the games you can play including speedsiding: how fast can you solve one side of your cube.

Race your mates to complete just one side of the Cube as fast as you can - then go for two or more sides!

Try making cross patterns on two, three, four or even more faces.

• Your best mates
• A Rubik's Cube each, or you can share
• Great snacks (but not a proper meal or you'll have to stop playing)
• A ready-prepared mix of your favourite sounds (they'll be no time to keep getting up)
• Blindfolds - 'cause it's got to be worth a fun round!
• Prizes - lots of cheap silly ones
• A list of Cube races and tricks to try (choose these beforehand from the Cubers' booklet)
