A Blog about Og on the Bog
Your great aunt seriously wouldn’t approve
Family visit alert!!! An occasional series to solve your ‘Help! How will we entertain them?!?’ emergencies.
This one's suitable for: ages 5 and above. For 2-4 players.
Here’s a game that’s… well, let’s not beat about the bush. It’s not the height of politeness.
It utilises one of our old teachers would have called ‘lavatorial humour.’ Should you ever be ingenious enough to invent your own time machine, we would not recommend a trip back to challenge Queen Victoria.
What happens is this: Og sits on his bog and he breaks wind. Yes, he farts, he trumps, he blows off, he lets them rip and his trousers cough. He bottom-burps. He guffs, he pumps, he ‘does a booster’ (the term used in our school playground back in the eighties – we’re fairly sure that the kids would laugh at this archaic term these days). He… well, you get the picture by now.
The players then try to make off with his bog roll.
Any further discussion of the gameplay would be utterly redundant. If you know anything about the kids in your life, you’ll know very well by now whether they’ll take to it or not. It’s a game for kids who snigger and guffaw; Og makes them feel a bit naughty, without them – you know – being actually naughty. Let them get it out of their system. Just as Og does.
Og’s a great game to secrete in the cupboard, ready for visiting nephews, nieces, children of friends etc. Especially if you like the idea of being that fun, slightly subversive grown-up figure in their life. It’s a piece of cake to set up, although you’ll need some batteries (3xAA) to energise those explosions.
