That would be 465 beans! Allow yourself 50 either way – this was a tricky one (and that’s the margin of error we give you in the LOGO Board Game itself).
If you guessed 465 on the nose then – well, either you have too much time on your hands, or you eat FAR too many beans.
(Don’t eat too many beans. Although the beans themselves are pretty good for you, the sugar and salt adds up.)
Although consuming beans as a meal is as old as cooking itself, tinned beans as we know them date back to the late 19th Century, when our friends at the H.J. Heinz company started up production at their plant in Pennsylvania.
The beans arrived in the U.K. as a luxury product to begin with, being sold only at luxury London store Fortnum & Mason, and the recipe was very much to the American taste – very sweet! The sauce was toned down over the years, evolving into the balanced tomatoeyness that us Brits know and love today.
Here’s a bonus question: which U.S. City is nicknamed ‘Beantown’?

Boston, of course. Home of the Boston Baked Bean, a style that's sweetened with molasses and enriched with pork fat. Such was the foodstuff’s association with the city, Boston’s Major League Baseball team were once known as the Boston Beaneaters.
